The Dodgers have been one of the more active teams looking to solidify their infield this off-season. With the rumors of Ian Kinsler dead and a potential trade for Brian Dozier floating around, you can’t say the Dodgers aren’t trying, especially if you add the latest rumor to your daily plate – the Padres Yangervis Solarte.
Dodgers President of Operation, Andrew Friedman, has talked about filling the hole with utility players such as Kiké Hernández, which is probably why Solarte is on his radar.
According to Ken Rosenthal, Dodgers are among a few teams looking at Solarte as an third base insurance policy and/or solution to second base:

With the new CBA looming, controlling finances is going to be a major issue for the Dodgers. Solarte is 29 years old and entering his first salary arbitration this off-season where he projected to make about $2.7 million.
Couple this with his solid stats from 2016 and it looks like a solid play for the Dodgers.
